Centre of Macroeconomic Research

Established in 2008, the Centre for Macroeconomic Research engages in independent assessment of Russian and status of the global economy, and the effect of the macroeconomic environment on the Bank's development.

The Centre publishes weekly and monthly analytical reviews of the current global and Russian economic situation with a forecast for basic macroeconomic indicators, keeps a close watch on financial sentiments within society, issues special subject economic reviews and conducts joint research with leading R&D institutes.

In addition, the Centre provides consulting on macroeconomic issues to the Bank's departments, prepares materials and participates in presentations and conferences in accordance with the Centre's specialisation.

Chief Economist Russia and CIS, Sberbank of Russia

Julia Tseplyaeva

Julia has worked at Sberbank since September 2013. Prior to joining Sberbank, she worked as Chief Economist Russia & CIS for BNP Paribas and the Bank of America/Merrill Lynch. Before this, she was Head of Research and Chief Economist Russia & CIS at ING Bank. She has also worked for the Russian Finance Ministry as an analyst of the Economic Expert group and was a member of the US Treasury team in Moscow (Technical Assistance Programme), providing analytical support for the Russian government and the Central Bank of Russia.

Julia graduated from the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of Lomonosov Moscow State University with a Master degree in Applied Mathematics, and from the New Economic School with a Master degree in Economics.
