Merchant Banking is a unit that manages Sberbank's own investments and co-investors' investments into securities of Sberbank's clients — private and public companies in Russia and countries of Central and Eastern Europe. This is an umbrella unit for Sberbank Investments, a 100% subsidiary of Sberbank of Russia, the Department of Strategic Projects within the Department of Investment Banking Operations, and Troika Capital Partners — a direct investments unit of former Troika Dialog.
Merchant Banking offers Sberbank CIB clients equity funding, end-to-end financial solutions for a leveraged buyout, mezzanine financing and services for structuring and providing complex financial instruments for special situations.
Key clients of Merchant Banking include largest corporations and financial institutions of Russia and countries of Central and Eastern Europe that are Sberbank's clients.
MB supplements other lines of Sberbank CIB business such as Corporate Loans, M&A, Structured Products etc.
Merchant Banking's portfolio includes investments into securities of companies in the infrastructure, civil engineering, oil and gas sectors and drug-store chains.
