SberTech to hold series of hackathons with a total prize fund of RUB 1.4 mln
November 2, 2016, Moscow – Sberbank Technology invites you to participate in InTech, an IT conference which will be held on November 18-20 in Innopolis (Republic of Tatarstan). A series of hackathons for in-memory data grid, big data, quality assurance, and blockchain specialists will be held at the conference. The total prize fund of the competition element amounts to more than RUB 1.4 mln.
On November 18-20, Innopolis (Republic of Tatarstan) will host an IT conference and a series of hackathons organised by Sberbank Technology. The speakers of the conference include leading experts in big data, quality assurance, blockchain and in-memory data grid. The programme of the event can be found here: http://www.sbertech-conf.com/.
The conference will also include a series of hackathons on strategic IT platforms and technologies of SberTech: business development support platform, data factory**, blockchain and quality assurance. Participants will be tasked with developing financial services using big data, blockchain, Apache Ignite and other technology.
The qualification stage will be held online on the event’s website until November 9. Winners will be able to compete for the main prizes in Innopolis on November 18-20.
The winner of each unit (i.e. the one who proposes the best method) will receive 200,00 roubles. Second and third place will receive 100,000 and 50,000 roubles respectively.
At the end of the events the top participants will be offered positions at Sberbank Technology.

* 18+ Business Development Support Platform task involves the creation of core banking platforms of a next-generation bank, which will ensure successful development of Sberbank’s business from 2018-23. Under the new IT programme, primary systems will be transferred to in-memory data grid technology. Thanks to this platform, Sberbank will be able to rapidly create client-centric information services, deploy deep tariffing of packages and products across the network, and considerably cut the amount of time required to bring new banking products and services to the market. It will have an almost unlimited capacity and will be highly stable, which will allow human participation in client transactions to be reduced considerably. The platform will include machine learning, flexible pricing and AI mechanisms.
** Data Factory task involves radically lowering the price of extracting and owning data, while simultaneously increasing its quality, completeness and accessibility. This will allow Sberbank to ensure that services are reliable and cut the time required to launch and amend products and services. In the future it will also serve to increase profits through initiatives on using data analysis. The single data storage, or data cloud, which is based on Hadoop, it is planned to consolidate data from dozens of source systems and thereby take the Bank’s data operations to a completely new level. The programme uses Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Java, Python, Cassandra, Elastic Search, distributed graph databases, etc.
